#furongtown
Have you ever seen a town completely built on top of a massive cliffside waterfall?
In this video, we travel to Furong Ancient Town (芙蓉镇) in Hunan Province, China—a great historic village surrounded by water on three sides and mountains on one. Located just a short 23-minute high-speed train ride from Zhangjiajie, this unique canyon-like landscape earns its title as "the town hanging on a waterfall."
We’ll walk along the narrow paths right underneath the roaring waterfalls, explore the cliffside guesthouses, and find out if this famous scenic spot is worth the 100 RMB entry fee or if it’s too commercialized.
? TRAVEL TIPS & PLANNING:
- Entry Fee: 100 RMB (~$15 USD) for a 3-day unlimited pass.
- Best Time to Visit: The rainy season is essential if you want to see the waterfall at peak power!
- What to Pack: Bring a sturdy raincoat (better than an umbrella!) and flip-flops, as your shoes will get completely soaked walking under the cliff paths.
